Big data in research: big opportunities, big challenges

In 2019, the Norwegian National Research Ethics Committees appointed an interdisciplinary working group to draw up a report on big data and research ethics. The report has been prepared on the basis of three main questions: (1) In what ways is Big Data changing research? (2) Which ethical norms in research are coming under pressure? (3) How should researchers and other stakeholders address the emerging opportunities and challenges? The working group has consisted of representatives from each of the committees as well as the National Committee for Research Ethics on Human Remains and the FEK secretariat.
